Heelys Review

Heelys make some trendy and popular skate shoes for kids and adults. I think they make some great shoes because they promote being active and healthy. They are a two in one shoe. They act like a normal shoe when the wheel is inside the shoe and turn into a skate shoe when the wheel is positioned out.

"Heelys are the two-in-one shoe that lets you take life at your own pace. With the wheels out, the stylish designs perform and look just like any other shoe. When you easily put the wheels in, you roll at a different speed. Heelys are about exploring your freedom, unleashing the fun and empowering you to be fearless."

I was very excited to get a pair of Heelys for Shane.

There are so many Great style options to choose from for both boys and girls. There is even a new line of Heelys called the HX2 line that have 2 wheels to make learning easier. Once your confident you can remove the first wheel.

We decided on the WAVE design. There is something about a white shoe that is classic yet trendy and I think they look so great on boys.

Check out Heelys awesome shoes on their Website HERE.

It's My Birthday

The Last year of my 20's...I'm 29 today

I was super excited to find out this morning that my husband took the day off work to spend extra time with me and Shane...He's Awesome

This evening we are going to Mexican Town for dinner with Family because it's my birthday and I can have Mexican food for dinner if I want too!

:)

Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Multi-Protection Rinse Test Drive Program

I am excited to be participating in the Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Multi-Protection Rinse Test Drive Program.

I try really hard to have good oral health. I brush everyday and floss almost everyday but I am prone to cavities and my gums seem to be a bit swollen at times. I have tried mouth rinses before but really don't like the sting of some of them and others I felt have not helped me much.

I am always willing to try new products. Crest has a new mouth wash out that I have been using for a week now called the Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Multi-Protection Rinse.

ABOUT Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Multi-Protection Rinse

Gives you a fresh, invigorating clean you can feel—so you know you’re working toward a better dental check-up. 24 hour protection against plaque and gingivitis. Use twice daily. Invigorating sensation.

* Kills germs
* Reduces plaque buildup

Enjoy the new flavor experience that helps signal that you are on the path to a healthy mouth.

In a survey of over 100 Women’s Health readers selected to receive free samples of a new Crest Pro-Health Rinse, 89 percent felt more confident about their next dental check-up after regular use of Crest Pro-Health Invigorating Clean Rinse.

HOW DO I LIKE CREST PRO HEALTH INVIGORATING CLEAN MULTI -PROTECTION RINSE ?

Watch for another post in a few weeks with my thoughts on crests new rinse and how its working for me.

“I wrote this review while participating in a test drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Crest and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central Consulting sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.”

Filtrete -create a healthier home for you and your children)

Despite our best efforts, young children end up chewing on toys, putting dirty fingers in their mouths, and touching, tasting and breathing things potentially harmful. But because their organs and respiratory, immune and neurological systems are still developing, they may be more sensitive to harmful substances such as certain chemicals, particles and allergens.

Since most people with allergies develop them during childhood, Dr. Alanna Levine, Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), shares the ABC's to help maintain a healthier home environment for children:

* A is for Avoid: Whenever possible, avoid irritants that often trigger allergies, such as products made of feathers or down. Use hypoallergenic pillows on your child's bed, and limit exposure to perfume, talcum powder, hair spray, air fresheners, fabric softeners or other strong odors or sprays. Strong fragrances and odors may aggravate allergy symptoms.

* B is for Balance: Maintain a consistent balance in the home to help minimize allergens. Keep the windows shut and use central air conditioning during high pollen seasons to help protect children from pollen particles that trees, grasses and weeds release into the air. These particles can harbor in the eyes, nose, and airways, causing allergy symptoms to flair for those allergic to pollen. Also, give children washable, non-allergenic stuffed toys when possible, and be sure to wash the ones played with the most on a weekly basis, in hot water at least 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

* C is for Change: Change items that are easy to neglect but are important for maintaining a healthier home, such as leaky faucets, pipes and other high moisture areas that are common places for mold growth. Don't neglect their air in the home either. Change your filter every three months, and use a high performance filter, such as a Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter from 3M.

WHY IS FILTRETE SUCH A GREAT FILTER?
Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter from 3M captures 94 percent of large airborne particles, such as household dust, pollen and mold spores, from the air passing through the filter. It also captures up to 40 times more microscopic particles, such as smoke, smog and particles that can carry bacteria and viruses, than ordinary fiberglass filters

For more healthy home living tips, money saving offers, filter change reminders and more, register to receive seasonal e-newsletters through the Clear Advantages program by visiting www.Filtrete.com.
You can also follow them on Twitter at @Filtrete.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Filtrete and received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.

"Red Fridays" are you participating I AM

Will You give this to my Daddy?

As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.'
Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed One of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.
Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As t.........hey began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.
When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and Cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.

Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our Service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi...'

The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her...

The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second... Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it..

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying 'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.'

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.

Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday - and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED.
The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is.....We need your support and your prayers.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example.

WEAR RED ON FRIDAYS AND SHOW SUPPORT FOR OUR TROOPS!!!

First time throwing up

Other than his reflux my son has never thrown up until last night.

I heard him get out of bed so I got up to check on him and he said he couldn't go back to bed because he "SPIT". Like I said he hasn't thrown up before so he didn't know the word throw up but I think he did a great job of telling me what was wrong using his own words.

I told him to show me what he meant and he took me to his room where there were 3 good wet spots on his bed but the were clear with mucus so I was a bit unsure if he had vomited or not.

I changed his sheets and blankets and tucked him back into bed. Ten minutes later he was throwing up again. Poor guy was sick all night. Finally at 5am I was able to get him to keep down some toast and pedialyte.

He has been better today but has not eaten much and had a slight fever this evening.

I don't know what it is but sickness has been really awful this year...All my friends with kids have been sick several times this year.

FOOD NETWORK Magazine Great Easy Meals Cookbook ( a must have)

I had the opportunity to review a copy of the new Food Network Magazine Great Easy Meals: 250 Fun & Fast Recipes Cookbook

"Inspired by the magazine's popular "Weeknight Cooking" section, this book is packed with great family recipes from Food Network Kitchens, plus dozens of tips from the chefs. With this book, you'll be able to put fun new dinners on the table every night, along with dozens of simple sides and 10-minute desserts. And each recipe comes with a photograph, so you'll see exactly what your dish will look like when you take it to the table.

Best of all, each chapter comes with an exciting mix-and-match feature that lets you write your own recipes and try new twists on your family's favorite dishes. You'll be able to make mac and cheese dozens of ways, throw together tasty new stir-fries, and reinvent chicken dinners again and again."

I love this cookbook. It's is one of my all time favorites. It has so many yummy recipes in it and all of them are fast easy recipes that taste really good. This cookbook is well worth its price.

Some of my favorite recipes so far are the

-chicken with creamy mushrooms and snap peas

-broccoli chowder with cheddar toast

-avocado BLTS

and the Mix and match pizzas

Some I can't wait to try are

- spring chicken salad

- cheese stuffed pork chops

- pesto salmon and smashed potatoes

The Food Network Magazine Great Easy Meals: 250 Fun & Fast Recipes will be Available March 15th and can be preordered on amazon HERE for $13.94

I would give this cookbook 5 stars and recommend you preorder it.

Happy 18th Birthday Stephanie Lynn...I hope your celebrating In Heaven

As some of you may know and others may not I lost my sister-in-law in a car accident almost 2 years ago.

For those interested HERE is the news Story.

Today would have been her 18th Birthday.

I just wanted to wish her a Very Happy Birthday and I truly hope she is celebrating in Heaven.

She was an amazing person. The best SIL to me and the Best Aunt to Shane. I remember Shane's first Christmas she took him the whole night and didn't even want to eat. All she wanted to do was hold him and play with him. She loved him so very much.

She died 2 weeks after his first birthday but was able to be here to see him turn 1.
I just really feel so blessed to have had her in my and my son's life but so sad because I wish she could still be here with us today.

HAPPY 18th Stephanie Lynn...WE LOVE YOU!

Schooling

Shane is going to be starting Preschool and it has got me thinking how much his schooling is going to cost. I paid 40k for my college degree alone. That doesn't include the tuition that was paid for me to go to a private High School and the extras for things like ACT Tutoring.

Believe me it was worth it but it scares me to think about how much we will have to put out to send Shane to private school and college. I have already started saving because I want to be able to offer Shane the same great education I received.

Ergo Baby Performance Carrier

If your a mom a must on your list of things to have for baby should be an ERGObaby carrier.

I Love Love Love my ERGObaby carrier and was impressed when I saw ERGObaby came out with a new performance carrier.

About the new performance carrier

Made of durable, lightweight, and breathable fabric, the ERGObaby Performance carriers are made to accommodate all active moms and dads. The Performance carriers feature a high-performance polyester exterior, ideal for outdoor activities in all climates; a breathable mesh lining, keeping babies and parents cooler and more comfortable; and a cooling panel for extra wicking. The attached sleeping hood stores easily in zippered pocket. This sleek, streamlined design offers a smooth, supportive fit for parents and babies of most sizes, and can still be used to carry babies from newborn to toddler on the back, front, and hip positions.

-Lighter weight (1/3 lighter than our Standard Carrier) This lighter weight fabric, with mesh lining, is ideal for active parents who want to bring baby on the go.

-The rugged exterior provides extra protection against the elements.

-Contoured shoulder straps keep your baby close to your body, eliminating extra strain on your shoulders or back. Thinner foam padding provides cushion without bulk.

-Easily adjust the chest strap to accommodate your own comfort with the sleek and streamlined slider.

-Extra length in waist belt provides a better fit for babywearers of all sizes

My thoughts

The first two things I noticed is that this carrier is lighter weight and has a more breathable fabric. I think that the performance carrier would be great for longer trips and when your spending a lot of time outdoors. It's quality is just as good as the original. It's great that ERGObaby has added another great carrier option to their already amazing line.

I give the ERGObaby Performance carrier 5 stars and would recommend it to any mom.

You can purchase the Performance carrier for $120 HERE
