Become a Seventh Generation Toxin Freedom Fighter

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Seventh Generation. I received a promotional item and product samples as a thank you for participating”

I was shocked to learn that more than 80,000 chemicals available in the United States have never been fully tested for their toxic effects on our health and environment. Having 2 kids of my own I worry that exposing them to certain chemicals that are not properly tested could put them at greater risk for heath problems such as cancer, alzheimer’s, learning disabilities, asthma and reproductive problems.

The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) was passed in 1976, and unlike other major environmental laws, has never been updated. As it currently stands, tens of thousands of potentially harmful chemicals continue to be used in the marketplace since the 1970’s without proper testing and without disclosure by the companies that produce them.

80,000 synthetic chemicals introduced into the market since the Toxic Substances Control Act was passed in 1976, the EPA has required testing on less than 10%.

We need to take a stand and do something about this! Want to help?

You can become a Toxin Freedom Fighter by signing Seventh Generation’s petition to urge Congress to reevaluate the Toxic Substances Control Act for the first time since 1976.

Help Seventh Generation  reach its goal of collecting 100,000 Signatures by signing the petition for chemical reform and urging your friends and family to do the same!

I signed :)  Now its your turn...click on the badge on my side bar!  #FightToxins

If 100,000 signatures are collected Seventh Generation will deliver them to congress on April 30, 2014!

You can watch what chemicals you expose you and your family to by using plant derived cleaning products with bio based ingredients. Seventh Generation makes all sorts of these products including All purpose cleaners, free and clear detergent and dishwashing liquid, glass cleaner, even chlorine free bleach. They also offer baby diapers and baby care items, Health and Beauty and other household items.

We are big fans of the all purpose cleaner and glass cleaner. I use the all purpose cleaner for just about everything from sinks to the stove to my counter tops. It cleans really well and its nice knowing I am not exposing myself and my family to toxic chemicals. Also Seventh Generation cleaners are not expensive and can be purchased at many major retailers and online. Recently they added unbleached 100% recycled bath tissue and I am super excited to try it. I have tried their paper towel and facial tissue. We currently use them in our house and are very happy with them.

If your looking to reduce the toxic chemicals in your house check out www.seventhgeneration.com to learn more about their plant derived bio-based ingredient cleaners!
