o.b. Share It Forward

 Every month most of us girls get our period. We go out to the store and buy sanitary protection and repeat the process the following month not thinking anything of it.  Sanitary protection is an everyday always available item for us.

Did you know For millions of girls all over the world sanitary protection is a luxury item?
I didn't until I learned about Huru International where I realized what a big problem it really is.


Huru International was established in 2008 and has developed a cost-effective solution to this crisis. They have created Huru Kits which will help provide the resources, including sanitary protection, and knowledge the girls need. This will not only safeguard their health but also enable them to complete their education.

Huru® Kits are provided to at-risk girls at no cost. Each Huru® Kit comes packaged in a drawstring bag that doubles as a backpack, and includes:
-Eight reusable sanitary pads
-Three pairs of underwear
-Detergent-grade soap to wash the sanitary pads
-A re-sealable, waterproof bag to safely store used sanitary pads
-Educational insert focused on proper Huru® pad care and usage, and
-Life-saving HIV/AIDS prevention information

The o.b.® Share It Forward program is a Facebook application through which women can help raise money for Huru® International simply by sharing a message with their network of friends about Huru® International’s mission, and helping shed light on an issue that impacts many woman globally.


Visit the o.b. Outreach tab HERE and click on the “share” button to re-post a message about Huru® International’s mission. Posts can be shared, on your Wall, a friend’s Wall, within a Group, or as a Message.

What is the o.b.® Brand’s goal with the Share It Forward program?
The o.b.® Brand hopes that o.b.® Users, and like-minded women, will help raise $25,000 for Huru® International, which translates into 1,000 Huru® Kits (or 8,000 reusable sanitary pads), valued at $25 each. For every user who shares the message about Huru® International’s mission with their network of friends, the o.b.® brand will donate $1 to Huru®.


It is so nice to see o.b. giving back. I couldn't imagine not having sanitary items available every month or the education needed to keep me healthy.
