Kellogg’s® and Action for Healthy Kids® Share One Million Breakfasts* to Help Bring Out Kids’ Full Potential

They don't say Breakfast is the most important meal for no reason.  As a certified educator I have seen first hand the effect hunger can have on children and learning. Growing up I was blessed to not have to worry about where my next meal would come from and how long I would go without but I knew others that were not as blessed as myself. One of my closest friends in Grade School lived in a house where they struggled with providing. Her mom was forced to stay home and take care of her sibling who was disabled and so they lived on a small check her dad brought home and a measly amount the government provided for her handicapped sibling. She once shared with me that they had no food in the house because they ran out.  At that time I really didn't understand the true impact that had on her. I was too young to see the big picture.

Now as a certified teacher that has been in the classroom in a community that was lower middle class with struggling families in a tough economy I understand the importance of Breakfast. Not having breakfast impacts both a child's physical and mental growth. It make it very hard for them to concentrate in school not only because they are hungry but because they are worried about themselves and their family. It's sad when a young child has to worry about food and has to know what it feels like to go hungry. No child should have to endure hunger.

I currently know of a family in my community that is struggling to make ends meet. This is a family of 6 with 4 school aged children. I plan to use the Share Breakfast” kit provided to me to give that family some extra breakfast's they would have not had other wise

Just in time for the season of giving, Kellogg’s® and  celebrity dad and actor
Taye Diggs have partnered to share breakfast with children in need as part of
the third consecutive Share Breakfast initiative. Starting today, families across
the country can share a breakfast with a child in need by simply sharing
a public service announcement featuring Diggs on ShareBreakfast.com.

For each view, share and comment, Kellogg’s will share breakfast.
Along with in-school breakfast partner Action For Healthy Kids®,
Kellogg’s and Diggs are making it their mission to show families how a
wholesome breakfast can help kids reach their full potential every
day. Kids who eat breakfast have more energy and focus for learning

1, yet nearly one in five children across our communities go without

2 That’s why Kellogg’s and Diggs are leading the charge to
help end childhood hunger and are rallying families across the U.S. to
help provide breakfast for kids in need.

As a dad, Kellogg’s Share Breakfast campaign is a cause Diggs feels
passionately about. His mom was a teacher and he was raised on the
belief that eating a wholesome breakfast helps give kids the potential
to have a great day. As a child, Taye grew up as the eldest of five
children in Rochester, New York and after the sudden death of his father,

Taye stepped up to help his mother care for his four younger
siblings. Through his family leadership, he can relate to the financial
worries that many families in America face in putting food on the table
every day. In the program’s third year, Kellogg’s Share Breakfast will
share one million breakfasts* with kids in need through grants to
schools or school districts to help them increase their participation in
school breakfast programs.

“Just imagine what kids across the country could accomplish if they each
had a great start every day. That’s why I am partnering with Kellogg’s
and the Share Breakfast program to help make this a reality,” said
Diggs. “Join me in raising one million breakfasts to help get America’s
kids the start they deserve.”

How to Join the Share Breakfast Movement Families across the U.S. can join Diggs in the Share Breakfast movement
and give the power of breakfast to kids in need.

Every time you do one of the following, Kellogg’s will share breakfast to a kid who might
otherwise go without:

1. Share the public service announcement with friends. 2. Like or comment on the Share Breakfast Facebook page.
3. Pin the public service announcement on Pinterest.

4. Posting on Twitter with the #ShareBreakfast
5. Sharing your "share" on your Facebook page

Cutest Girls Clothing.... Mud Pie Dresses

Easter is right around the corner. In my search for some of the cutest girls clothing, I found the most adorable Easter dress for Jacey from a popular girls and boys clothing brand called Mud Pie.

After looking through the adorable clothing on Mud Pie's website , I found a perfect dress for Jacey for Easter this year, as well as a couple of outfits I would love to have for her to get pictures in.

Check out this beautiful A Pink Rose Sunday Silk Dress that I was sent to review for Jacey for Easter.
It is just gorgeous with intricate detailing throughout the whole dress. A beautiful top filled with chiffon rosettes and a tiered skirt on bottom with tulle layers.  No picture can do it justice. It is just so much more beautiful in person.

Little Remedies a trusted brand for Colds and Flu

When either of my children get a cold or the flu I use a variety of home remedies and over the counter medicines. I try to limit the over the counter medicine and only give them things that contain as many natural ingredients as possible as the thought of unknown or unneeded ingredients scares me. I worry about how it effects their growing bodies. Many over the counter medicines are packed with unneeded ingredients and until now I didn't realize there was a brand that offered an over the counter medicine without any unneeded ingredients.

I just discovered LITTLE REMEDIES and am very impressed with what I learned.

"Little Remedies® products contain only what is needed to make your child feel better – no saccharin, alcohol, artificial flavors, artificial coloring, dyes or harmful preservatives.

The Little Remedies® line includes products to combat cold and flu, allergies, and stomach ailments, and also offers one of the only brand name fever reducers for infants that is currently on the market – Little Remedies for Fevers® Infant Fever/Pain Reliever. "

With this information alone, Little Remedies will be my first choice of over the counter medicine from now on.

I am lucky enough to have children that are rarely sick. I think this is due in part to the fact I stress hand washing,  covering mouths and I avoid having anyone that I know is even somewhat sick come in contact with my children to the best of my ability.

I really love the Little Remedies “Less is More” approach!  I don't know why anyone would want to give anything unnecessary to their children. Especially when their imune system is already compromised.

I am very excited to have some of little re  products on hand in case my children get sick.

The products I currently have include the Honey Elixir for Shane and Acetaminophen for Jacey.

Little Remedies® For Colds™ Honey Elixir is a natural alternative to traditional cough syrup products. Honey Elixir is made with great tasting honey to soothe coughs and sore throats naturally.* The product, safe for toddlers 12 months or older, includes no artificial flavors or colors, no saccharin, alcohol, dyes or gluten.

Created with Children in Mind
The Little Remedies® product line was created by a pharmacist and father who was tired of searching for a product to give his kids that was effective and made with ingredients he could feel good about. Little Remedies® products follow the philosophy of “less is more” while providing parents with effective products to support the wellness of their child. Our products contain only what is needed to make your child feel better – that means no accharin, alcohol, artificial flavors, artificial coloring or dyes.

***Warning: Do not use in children younger than 12 months because of the risk of botulism. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before using if you are not sure.

Little Remedies® For Fevers™ Infant Fever/Pain Reliever is one of the
only brand name fever reducers for infants that is currently on the market.
Caregivers can trust that it will reduce fevers and relieve minor aches
and pains all with no artificial flavors or colors; no alcohol, saccharin or
gluten. Little Remedies® For Fevers™ is the solution parents can feel
good about giving to their children.

Symptom Relief
Little Remedies® For Fevers™ Infant Fever/Pain Reliever temporarily
reduces fever and minor aches and pains due to common cold, flu,
headache, sore throat and toothache.

AccuSafe® Dosing
Little Remedies® is the very first children’s medicine brands to adopt a new AccuSafe® Dosing system for infant acetaminophen products. This Little Remedies® product uses our AccuSafe® system designed to ensure safe and accurate dosing and minimize the risk of accidental ingestion.

Adults simply use the provided syringe, attach it to the flow restrictor on the bottle, invert the bottle and pull back on the syringe to extract the correct dosing amount.

I was lucky that when I had Jacey this past September she was full term. Although she was still at risk for RSV ( any baby can get it), having a preemie baby increases the risk of contracting RSV, a life threatening illness'.

Young infants are very susceptible to infection in the early weeks of their lives, so contracting something as small as the common cold can present danger. This is especially true for babies born early, because they have underdeveloped lungs and immature immune systems.

Did you know that 79 percent of preemie moms have a baby who was hospitalized due to a severe respiratory infection? One virus in particular that parents of preemies should know about is respiratory syncytial virus, commonly known as RSV.

• RSV is the leading cause of infant hospitalization, and severe RSV disease causes up to 10 times as many infant deaths each year as the flu.

 • RSV is most prevalent during the winter months. The CDC has defined the “RSV season” as beginning in November and lasting through March for most parts of North America.

 • In addition to prematurity, common risk factors include low birth weight, certain lung or heart diseases, a family history of asthma and frequent contact with other children. Prevention is Key RSV is very contagious and can be spread easily through touching, sneezing and coughing. Since there’s no treatment for RSV, parents should take the following preventive steps to help protect their child:

 • Wash hands, toys, bedding, and play areas frequently

 • Ensure you, your family, and any visitors in your home wash their hands or use hand sanitizer

 • Avoid large crowds and people who are or have been sick

• Never let anyone smoke near your baby

• Speak with your child’s doctor if he or she may be at high risk for RSV, as a preventive therapy may be available Know the Symptoms Contact your child’s pediatrician immediately if your child exhibits one or more of the following:

 • Severe coughing, wheezing or rapid gasping breaths
 • Blue color on the lips, mouth, or under the fingernails
 • High fever and extreme fatigue

I have become very educated on RSV and have taken many steps to try and prevent my daughter from contracting it. I had a friend who's son had to be hospitalized and almost died because he contracted RSV. It's very scary and really the simple steps above can help greatly reduce the risk of your baby or baby you are visiting contracting RSV.

Please take a moment to visit RSVProtection.com to learn more about RSV!  Education is the KEY!
