5 things AMISH

#5 The Amish believe that if you take their pictures it steals their souls (hope I didn't steal any souls this

#4 If an Amish Man is married he has a beard. If he is single he does not but often men get married early so you rarely see an Amish man without a beard.

#3 Amish live very simply. Most don't have electricity unless it is run on a generator. They don't use city power. You can tell an Amish house because they don't use curtains so the windows are bare and see through.

#2 The Amish make the Best Food. Their Jerky and Cheese is to die for!

#1 I look pretty cute as an Amish :)

Pictures of my trip up soon!

  1. There's a movie called For Richer or Poorer from the mid-90s that's set in an Amish's still in pretty heavy rotation in our house bc it cracks me up!

  2. I saw Amish in my feedreader, and had to click through. I grew up near Shipshewana, and my parents still live there.

  3. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. Actually I am already a follower of yours. :)

  4. We just visited a little town where Amish live in the surrounding area (Arthur, Illinois). An Amish lady stopped and spoke with us at a stop sign. She was in her horse-drawn buggy with her four children. That was really neat. :)
I'm also an unemployeed elementary school teacher looking for work, but there are so many teachers looking for jobs nowadays so that makes it really hard!

  5. Thanks for hopping the green blog hop!

Please take a moment to blog with the button! Gotta spread the word!

  6. Thanks for the follow. I've been following you for a couple weeks now. ;D

Yes!! You do look pretty cute in the Amish cap!! BUT... could you give up your COMPUTER??? LOL!!

  7. I took a vacation in Amish country a while back and fell in love with their gorgeous handmade quilts. Couldn't afford one, but man, would they look good on my bed. :)

  8. I think the Amish are fascinating. There is another blog I read and the woman who writes it is obsessed with the Amish. I love how they live simply and I've read that they don't get their children vaccinated, which I think is the best way to go. I wonder why they don't use curtains on their windows? That is puzzling!
